SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH A HEART AND THE ARTS Project M.I.A (Motivating Inclusive Arts) was started as part of our social cause and for the team at Hola Creatives to help back the society at large. We chose to focus on the integration of an inclusive society, via the creative arts. We would love to embark on collaborations with various community partners and agencies as well as keen sponsors, who wish to make a difference in and individual's life.
Our team (previously known as B.E.E.M in 2014) created many opportunities for individuals from all walks of life to learn and develop an appreciation for the creative arts. We do outreach to special schools, community services agencies, charitable organisations and many more to provide an avenue for groups of people to enjoy learning and doing crafting.
Our trainers are ones with wonderfully BIG hearts, willing to volunteer their time and efforts into guiding others who may not be able to afford learning a new craft or hobby on their own.
We have collaborated with businesses and organisations such as HighReach Educational Consultancy, People's Association, Kaki Bukit Youths Executive Committee, MKAC (Muslim Kidney Action Association) and with several student volunteers from various tertiary institutions i.e. Republic Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, ITE College West and East etc.
Children's Day Mini Carnival The team was fortunate to have sponsors like Vintagraph Studios, HighReach Educational Consultancy, Women's Executive Committee (Kaki Bukit CC), Youths Executive Committee (Kaki Bukit CC) all coming together to organise a Children's Day Mini Carnival at Kaki Bukit Community Centre on 4 Oct 2014. The event was a huge success and we were up planning another community project with Darul Ihsan Orphanage Home.
Arts Day Out @ Botanic Gardens! After the successful community mini-carnival, we managed to co-organised another community project at Singapore Botanic Gardens with MKAC. This time round, the beneficiaries were children from Darul Ihsan Orphanage Home. The beneficiaries were invited for day out of fun and learning to do DIY crafts with guidance from student volunteers. There sponsored goodie bags and prizes, and the children brought home their DIY colourful pinwheels for that day.
We love to spearhead more Project M.I.A in the near future. Do drop us a message today and perhaps, a creative idea may be brewing.
We are also looking for volunteers to volunteer their time, be it a few hours or a day or two, with us, advocating creativity and social ideas with us. Do email firstname.lastname@example.org and state "Volunteer Interest" and we will take note of your interest in our database for any future projects.
